Ever seen the video clip where Michael Jordan makes a free throw with his eyes closed? Ever heard of the basketball game where Kobe Bryant scored 81 points? Ever wondered why Larry Bird is said to be the slowest person on the basketball Court, yet no one can block his shots?
What is the equivalent of your 1000 shots per day?
Larry Bird, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, and others are known to have made about a 1000 shots per day during their playing career in the NBA. There’s no doubt that this practice showed on the Court on any given day. Can you imagine if you were to exercise such discipline in your career or certain area of your personal or business life, the benefit you would reap. Let’s explore that thought.
Personally, I exercise 6 days out of the week. My exercise includes Bicycle Crunches, Weights, and Running/Treadmill time. I do 1000 Bicycle Crunches per day. Not only is my 6 pack evident, I enjoy other health benefits where I’m not gaseous or feel bloated. Of course, my mirror praises me...lol, which is not a bad thing but a moral booster. The challenge now is to find an area in my profession or aspired profession where I will get paid for replicating 1000 shots per day, and it’ll show on the Court so to speak; as the 1000 Bicycle Crunches shows on my body and health.
Ideas broken down to bite sizes
Perhaps a good resource to explore more of this idea is Blink by Malcolm Gladwell.
Did you ever hear of this 1000 shots per day concept? What do you make of it? Is it something that you can apply in a certain area of your personal or business life? Share!
