Money [0 of 16 Part Series - Introduction]

Money [0 of 16 Part Series - Introduction]

Two scenarios here.

One. Money can be likened to fruits on a tree. You see it, you admire it, you desire it, from your vantage point, you plot how to get it. What we tend to forget is that the fruit is sustained by branches, leaves, those branches and leaves are sustained by stems, who are in turn sustained by roots, who are in turn sustained by the earth and its gazillion minerals, nutrients, and water. Not only that, the tree and its eventual fruits are helped to form by the sun, the heat, wind, air, oxygen, etc. Get the picture? The fruit did not pop out of thin air. One must appreciate all the relevant and relative elements to truly enjoy [and appreciate] the fruits.

Two. Money can be likened to rain. When it falls, it falls for everyone. No discrimination. It falls on the poor as well as the rich; the good as well as the bad. How you harvest it determines how well it’ll serve or benefit you. The rain falls in its season. Scripture has much to say about this analogy - how to collect the rain, how to preserve it, how to use it, how to share it.

From my vantage point, from where I stand, I’m going to attempt to describe what I see as the fruit/rain/money; how to approach it, how to obtain it or acquire or collect it, how to manage it, how to make it last long, how to cultivate the seeds of the fruit, how to recover from spilled-water, and many more.

I will attempt to do so in a 16 part series article. By no means will this be an exhaustive list of anything, or exhaustive perspective on anything. It is merely my humble submission on what I see, so to speak. Even a person standing at the same location as me, with the same vantage point, may see something entirely different, and have an entirely different submission. Let this article [and every article from this platform, really] merely be a point of consideration.

I think it’s reasonable and safe to assume that anyone who is 5 years and older knows what money is and what it’s used for. Many may not know how it’s acquired, how to prudently spend it, how to prudently manage it, etc. But for the most part, almost all knows what it is - a medium of exchange.

Here are some of the facets of money to be covered in the next 16 part series. What is money? Cash? Savings? Psychology of money. Educating our children about money. Principles of money - not only what Wall-Street teaches, but the Principles of Joseph. Etc.

What are some of the facets of money that is unique to you or that has worked for you? Is it applicable to your personal life or business or both? Do you share or teach these facets to others? Why or why not?
