The Beauty Around Me | Chadwick Boseman
Every morning that I wake up, I cannot help but be grateful and filled with gladness or gratitude for the beauty that surrounds me. Sometimes, I wake up in the middle of the night, and I see the frame of the door as the night light from the other end creates a somewhat beautiful silhouette of light and the door. The mere engineering and shape of the door alone takes my breath away, let alone silhouette created by the lighting. I’m deeply grateful for little things like this; to be alive in such a time, where engineering and technology are at its highest since humans started cataloging inventions. A great time to be alive! A brilliant time to be alive, for sure!
Then when I actually awake in the morning, I have the utmost privilege to look outside through the dozen windows in my house and see the most gorgeous mountains and hills from afar. The greenery, the colors, even in summer is quite a sight to behold. It just gives me a sense of peace. The sunrise is purely spectacular to say the least. Oh God is good! His creation is nothing short of amazing. I’m in awe that I’m placed in the midst of all this beauty. I even get to hear the cock crow every single morning and afternoon. I get to see the horses run around afar off from my backyard. Life is more than beautiful. Yes, even in the midst of a C-19 pandemic. All glory to God.
Heard early this morning, Saturday August 29, 2020, that Chadwick Boseman died. He was 43. Didn’t know who he was at first, till I was made aware that he was King T’Challa in Black Panther. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gm7P5g1JQPw). My heart sank. “To be young, gifted, and black.” - Nina Simone. (https://twitter.com/business/status/1299819438888361985?s=20). He battled Colon Cancer for 4 years. I had no idea that he was even sick, let alone cancer. Why am I talking about Chadwick Boseman? Take care of yourself, sober up. No one is guaranteed extra time on this earth. Make the best of the time that you have, smell the roses, go for a walk, smell the forest, enjoy that coffee, enjoy that love-making, enjoy every minute of it all. For none of us is guaranteed the next minute.
